  •  Persons with Developmental Disabilities 
    The PDD Program, as part of the Ministry of Seniors and Community Supports, develops, implements, and evaluates a provincial plan for the delivery of supports to adults with developmental disabilities. Their mission is to create an Alberta where adults with developmental disabilities are included in community life.
  • Alberta Council of Disability Services
    Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS) is a not-for-profit association. It serves community-based service provider members who support people with developmental disabilities or brain injury. The goal of ACDS is to ensure quality service delivery for individuals within Community Disability Services (CDS). Member support is provided through education, accreditation, research, networking and collaboration, and has evolved into an important communications channel.
  • Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped
    The Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) program provides financial and health-related assistance to eligible adults with a disability. The disability must be permanent and severely limit a person’s ability to earn a living. AISH clients may also be eligible to receive supplemental assistance (a child benefit and personal benefits) through the AISH program.
  • ADWA – The Disability Sectors Professional Association 
    Over 10,000 disability workers in Alberta are united by the common goal of providing support that enables people with disabilities to have the highest quality of life possible as part of their communities. ADWA exists to build recognition of the professionalism of those who work in this field and help them build careers that are supported by relevant education and enhanced certification process based on recognized core competency standards. ADWA advocates for fair compensation for workers in the disability sector and for government regulations that support fair treatment, health and safety of disability workers.
